Switzerland's Priority Organisations

Switzerland's Priority Organisations Map

In accordance with Switzerland’s International Cooperation Strategy 2021-2024, Switzerland supports 23 priority multilateral organisations. These include 16 development organisations, 2 human rights organisations, and 6 humanitarian aid agencies. Switzerland is also a contributor and shareholder of 6 international financial institutions. These contributions to the UN, IFIs and international organisations allow Switzerland to influence their work and shape the global policy dialogue on development and humanitarian issues.

Multilateral partnerships at global level are complemented by Switzerland’s engagement with these organisations at country level, and contribute to Switzerland’s policy dialogue at global and national levels. Focusing on selected multilateral organisations allows Switzerland to ensure close monitoring of the organisations’ performance, to engage regularly and meaningfully through different channels and provide substantial guidance to these organisations as active member of their governing boards.
