National Armaments Director holds work discussions with the French Directorate General of Armament (DGA) in Bern
Bern, 02.10.2026 — National Armaments Director Urs Loher received representatives from the French Directorate General of Armament (DGA) from 1 to 2 October 2026 for bilateral work discussions. The discussions focused on current defence policy developments as well as bilateral cooperation.
The delegation of the French Directorate General of Armament (DGA) arrived in Thun on 1 October 2026. An exchange on the topic of drones took place, in which, amongst other things, the project “Eiger” for the new competence centre of unmanned systems DDPS and the Taskforce Drones were presented. This was followed by a demonstration of the Swiss Drone and Robotics Centre (SDRC).
On 2 October 2026, National Armaments Director Urs Loher then held work discussions at the headquarters of armasuisse in Bern. The talks focused on current security and defence policy developments, the exchange of experiences in selected skill areas as well as future cooperation possibilities. In addition to the key area of drones, the areas of outer space and tactical communication were also discussed.
