In the 2nd quarter 2026, the employed population grew by 0.8% and ILO unemployment stood at 4.9%

Neuchâtel, 18.08.2026 — In the 2nd quarter 2026, the number of employed persons in Switzerland rose by 0.8% year-on-year. The unemployment rate as defined by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) rose from 4.6% to 4.9% in Switzerland, whereas in the EU it remained at 5.9%. These are some of the results of the Swiss Labour Force Survey (SLFS) conducted by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
